My plein air painting offers the opportunity to capture momentary impressions of the landscape, showing a fleeting and spiritual description of time. The paintings convey a sense of the sublime and a romantic view of the world.

Influences include Albert Marquet, Samuel Palmer, Ben Nicholson, Alfred Wallis, Eric Ravillious and many post war landscape painters.

My plein air practice began during the pandemic as a therapeutic outlet, evolving into The Painted Path—a series of oil paintings inspired by Raynor Winn’s novel The Salt Path. Supported by Arts Council England, this project captures the fleeting, sublime beauty of the South West Coast and serves as a spiritual meditation on time and place.
